Annual Benefit Auction

We would like to thank those who donated to this year’s benefit auction and for everyone who bid on items and bought items. Auctioneer, Mike Baxter, sold 54 items that brought in $8,205. 100% of these proceeds go directly into the SCA scholarship fund, which awards five, $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors and college students each year. Prior to the auction SCA President, Tim Shaw presented the 2016-2017 recipients with their scholarship certificates. These recipients are pictured below.

Thank you to all of our Sponsors & Exhibitors

2nd Annual SCA/Zoetis Pen Show

The 2nd Annual Pen of Three Replacement Heifer Show was a great event to have in addition to the SCA Convention. This show is a ‘no clip, no fit, no bull…’ type of a show to allow Sandhills cattle producers to show off the quality genetics they strive for in their herds. Those in attendance had the chance to be the judge by ranking the pens from 1st to 7th place in order to crown a ‘People’s Choice Winner’.

Thank you to the following SCA members for entering the 2016 pen show:
Painter Ranch (Roger Painter and Jason & Heather Painter), Jeremy Stevens, Taubenheim Ranch, Kearns/Rockn J Ranch, and Walking X Cattle (Craig & Katie O’Kief) who entered two pens.

We would like to thank our two official judges: Taylor Grussing from Kimball, South Dakota and Jason Hoffman from Thedford, Nebraska. We would also like to thank Zoetis for being the main sponsor of this show.

Educational Speakers

The 77th Annual SCA Convention had a great line up of speakers and we are very grateful to each of them for spending the day with us and sharing their wisdom.

Kidz Zone

New to Convention this year, was the Kidz Zone which gave parents the opportunity to listening in on education speakers and take part in the days’ events while the children played. Eve Millar and her daughter Josi did an amazing job providing face painting during convention. Other activities at the Kidz Zone included: dummy roping, bouncy house, slide, hop scotch, snow cone machine and a craft table.

We would like to thank Peek-a-Boutique for being the sponsor of the Kidz Zone.
