2017 Scholarship Program

2017 Scholarship Program

Event Details: 2/1/2017 export event

Each year the Sandhills Cattle Association awards five $1,000 scholarships to children of SCA members who are currently enrolled in college or a vo-tech school or a senior in high school. Funds for the scholarships come from money raised at the SCA's Annual Benefit Auction, which is held during the Association's Convention each year.

Applying for this scholarship also puts you in the pool for the Howard Wright Memorial Scholarship Program, one $500 scholarship dedicated to the memory of Howard Wright, a lifelong Cherry County rancher and a longtime member of the Sandhills Cattle Association. Funds for this scholarship come from the proceeds of two registered Longhorn steers which were sold at the 2005 SCA Convention. The Wright family is involved in the selection process for this scholarship.

Within the application file, you will find all the details of how to apply for a SCA Scholarship. Please be sure to download the file to your desktop before starting to fill in the application. You will NOT be able to save changes when the application is open in an internet browser.

Applications must be sent to the SCA office on or before February 1, 2017. The committee will then select 10 applicants to advance to the interview stage, which will be held in Valentine, Nebraska on Saturday, March 18, 2017.
