Due to the retirement of a long time employee, a Sandhills Cow/calf ranch is seeking a full time employee. The ranch is located in SE Cherry County, 7 miles NW of Purdum, NE. Spring calving operation with cattle work mostly done on horseback. Side-by-sides and 4 wheeler are also used at appropriate times. Replacement heifers are developed on site. No row crops, but we do put up our own native hay. Duties consist of calving, pairing out, branding, feeding, doctoring, fencing, windmill work, heat detection, mechanic, haying, preconditioning, weaning, general maintenance and upkeep, and all other miscellaneous ranch work. This position requires an honest, responsible, hard working individual with respect for livestock and the industry. References to back these qualities up is a must.
