The Sandhills Cattle Association is once again teaming up with the Sandhills Affiliate of the Nebraska Cattlemen’s and the Nebraska Cattlemen’s Cow/Calf Council to bring you the 2nd Annual Fall Feeder Calf Preview. Take a peaceful drive with friends and stop at some of the premier ranches and best feeder calves the Sandhills has to offer.
We’ll start off our tour on September 7 at 9 am mountain-time at the KwikStop in Mullen, Nebraska, where Kraye Angus is generously providing coffee and doughnuts for our tour guests. We’ll head out to Olen & Julie Olson’s ranch as our first stop. We’ll then continue onto Tim & Deanna Simonson’s ranch, followed by a sack luck also provided by Kraye Angus. Next, we’ll head over to Jay & Brenda Lovitt’s ranch, followed by Wade & Jeri Edis’s ranch and then finish off our first day’s stops at Charles and Patrick Wright’s Hell Bar Ranch. Elanco and Western Nebraska Bank are sponsoring the evening meal at the Sandhills Corral in Thedford, Nebraska where Dr. Bruce Hoffman and Sustainable Beef LLC will be our speakers.
We’ll kick off day two on September 8, bright and early with breakfast at 7:30 am central time in the Sandhills Corral in Thedford, Nebraska sponsored by VitaFerm. We’ll then be heading out to Hall & Sons Ranch at 9 am ct, followed by Heath & Kris Rasmussen Ranch, with our final stop being the Paxton Ranch. Prairie Feed Supply of Thedford is going to make us an amazing lunch to enjoy before your depart.
This tour will be held in two different time zones. September 7 will primarily be in mountain-time and September 8 will be central-time. Some guests will be staying overnight at the Roadside Inn in Thedford, Nebraska. If you would like to carpool from there, please be ready to go in the parking lot by 8:30 am ct. We will have several different volunteers ready to share their vehicles with you.
