Calving season is officially upon us, and we have experienced the first “fools' spring” of the season. Some of you may know what I am talking about. For those who do not know, fools spring is a period of time when the weather is extremely nice and gives the illusion that spring is here. When, in a very short few days, the weather will turn, and winter will show her face again. Hence the name fool’s spring. But do not get too sad yet! Spring will come, and the weather will be nicer, eventually.
The girls are hot and heavy with bull sales, and things are going smoothly at the office. Knock on wood anyway. I do not want to jinx anything! We are about to the halfway mark for the busy season and want to thank all our customers and members for supporting the association.
With it being the middle of February, I will only get one more chance to remind you that our scholarship applications are due on the 28th of this month. Please, if you know anyone who would benefit from our scholarship, please send them to our website to apply. Now with that being said, we are asking for our members to help support this scholarship program and consider donating or bidding on the action items that will be at our banquet. This program could be the deciding factor on where to go to college for someone, and I would hate to see one of our youth miss out on an amazing adventure. If you are interested in donating an item or setting up a fund, please give the girls at the office a call. Your donation will benefit someone here in the sandhills, and we could not be prouder of that.
We hope the weather cooperates as we finish out spring and calving season, and we want to thank all of you for your support. Thank you!
