It seems these weeks in between letters have been flying by with calving season hitting hard! I hope everyone is fairing well in the calving pen, but it definitely feels like it will be a long one. These winter storms took a pretty good toll on all the mommas & calves but hopefully, the tall green grass will help them gain. This nice-ish weather and snow melt make me hopeful for a great spring & branding season to come here in just a few months. My kids have sure been enjoying helping with calving this year. I love that they are interested in our way of life and want to help out on the ranch because some days, I sure need it!
Winter sports are wrapping up, and with that being said, I would like to congratulate my daughter Rylee, who won fourth at District Wrestling this past week! She is in the 8th grade and has qualified for State Wrestling in the Junior High Division, and she will be wrestling in Grand Island next Saturday. This is her first-year wrestling & Stuart's first year having a wrestling program & we can't wait to see where this new program goes! My son Austin was supposed to wrestle as well, but he hurt his knee the week before (he's been mad for a while now), and hopefully, we will get that taken care of so he can compete next year!
Congratulations to the kids in Stuart and the other Sandhills students who have qualified for State Wrestling!
