Listen here!

Hey everyone! This is Amber Sides with the Sandhills Cattle Association and this is your weekly update on the Sandhills Cattle News!

The Sandhills Cattle Newsletter hits the printers today, so be looking for it in the mail next week!

If you’re wanting to learn more about Unit Cost of Production the UNL Beef Team is hosting a Two-Day workshop in Valentine, NE at the Niobrara Lodge from 8:30 am to 4 pm central time. The workshop will provide hands-on learning for cow-calf producers to learn how to calculate unit cost of production. Participants will receive an Excel spreadsheet template that can help analyze cost of production for their own operation.

Pre-registration is requested before January 27 by contacting the Cherry County Extension office at (402) 376-1850.

Our very own board member of the Sandhills Cattle Association, Bree Denaeyer of Seneca, Nebraska gave her take in the UNL Beef podcast about how useful the Unit Cost of Production Tool has been in planning and decision making on their ranch, when it comes to cattle and hay production as well as determining the cost and effectiveness of a certain piece of equipment. I highly recommend listening to their podcast interviewing her for insight on how beneficial this workshop may be for you and your operation. The link to the podcast interview will be provided under the Radio Ad on our website sandhillscattle.com
